At a meeting of Queenstown Airport shareholders today an agreement was reached to appoint an interim chairman to the board of directors. 

The shareholders (Queenstown Lakes District Council and Auckland International Airport Limited) agreed to appoint director Murray Valentine to the position. 

A businessman and chartered accountant, Mr Valentine became a director of the Queenstown Airport Corporation in 2006. 

He would act as interim chairman until the Annual General Meeting at the end of September, 2011.
