Airport Directors sought

The Queenstown Lakes District Council has decided to recruit for two new Queenstown Airport Corporation directors, QLDC regulatory and corporate general manager Roger Taylor said.

“Queenstown Airport is the fourth largest and fastest growing airport in New Zealand.  It is a key gateway for visitors to the region and its effective governance is essential to the continued development of the airport and the economic well-being of the district” Mr Taylor said.

Advertising for the two positions will commence from this weekend. Council will be seeking a person who can be appointed chair in the short term as well as an additional director to the board.

“We are seeking directors that can bring key governance skills such as strategic development, internal assurance and financial acumen who are also familiar with the additional layer of public accountability and responsibility for the board of a council-controlled company” he said.
