Arrowtown Parking Review for Consultation
- Date:
- Jul 2, 2008
2 July 2008 - 10.34am
Growth is a major driver for a review of parking in central Arrowtown, Queenstown Lakes District Council utilities committee chairman John Mann said.
"We are very much in the process of consulting with the Arrowtown community before we do anything else," Mr Mann said.
The council had already consulted with various community groups on the proposal, including the local village and business associations to reach a point where it had something to consult about.
"Now we want to know what the rest of the town thinks about the proposal, which does include options," Mr Mann said.
A brochure outlining the proposal, giving background and highlighting the things that needed to be considered would be delivered to the Arrowtown community this weekend.
"It includes a map which shows what we think would give some solutions to a problem that cannot be ignored. It also calls for feedback," Mr Mann said.
"Have a look and let us know what you think, parking is a really important issue for any community and we want to make sure we get it right for Arrowtown," Mr Mann said.
The council was seeking feedback on the proposal until July 25, 2008.
