Lake Wakatipu and Queenstown Flood Advisory for ORC/QLDC

The rain event yesterday morning gave 15mm to the Dart catchment.

Modelling had suggested a rise in level for around 10pm, but instead the lake held steady. Recession to lake level started again after midnight and the level is currently 311.33m.

The 311.3m level should be reached easily today.

Next rainfall is forecast for Thursday. New modelling runs will be carried out when expected rainfall is known.

How long will it take for the lake to recede back to 310.8?

No further update as yet, but will advise later today.
