Cuppa With The Council
- Date:
- Oct 27, 2010
Residents and ratepayers of all ages are being offered the chance to meet the members of the newly elected Queenstown Lakes District Council at two special events in November, QLDC chief executive Debra Lawson said.
“A Cuppa with the Council” will be hosted by Mayor Vanessa van Uden in Wanaka on Saturday 13 November, 2010, while Deputy Mayor Lyal Cocks takes on the hosting duties in Frankton on Saturday 20 November, 2010.
Ms Lawson said the two events were a great opportunity for everyone to meet members of the new Council in a casual setting.
“We’re delighted to be able to extend an invitation to the wider community to come along and join us for morning tea and a natter, “she said. “An informal event like this is a great way to introduce the Council to the community and begin the conversation.”
Tea and scones will be on offer and activities will be provided for children, with each event timetabled to start at 10.00am and run for approximately an hour and a half.
