Representation Review Open For Submission
- Date:
- Apr 16, 2012
The Queenstown Lakes District Council is encouraging residents and ratepayers to have a say on its representation review, now open for submission, QLDC regulatory and corporate general manager Roger Taylor said.
Earlier this month the Council adopted a proposal for consultation, with the proviso that ‘other options’ were also available for consideration by the general public
“Submissions formally open today on the proposal which would see the Arrowtown Ward merge with the Wakatipu Ward and an Arrowtown Community Board established,” Mr Taylor said.
The discussion document, which was now available online www.qldc.govt.nz and from the Lakes District Museum and the Arrowtown Library, explained why the Council must undertake a review, what the process was and what ‘other’ options might be considered.
“We have listed three alternatives to the proposal in order to assist with the debate,” Mr Taylor said.
The review was open for submission through until Friday 18 May 2012.
“Our hope is that people will read the document, consider the proposal and tell us what they think,” he said.
