Chief Executive Announced

- Date:
- Jul 30, 2012
The current head of the Serious Fraud Office (SFO) has been appointed to the position of Queenstown Lakes District Council Chief Executive.
A qualified lawyer and renowned as the Chief Executive behind the transformation of Eden Park (2007-2009), Adam Feeley will start in the new role within the next three months.
“Adam has left this Council with no doubt that he has the skills and experience to deliver in this role. Not only does he have an exemplary track record as a decisive and action oriented leader but he comes with political and business acumen,” QLDC Mayor Vanessa van Uden said.
A highly respected public servant, Mr Feeley said the challenge of a role in Local Government combined with a passion and affinity for the Lakes District made the lure of the QLDC top job too good to miss.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the SFO but I am relishing the future challenge and very much look forward to engaging with my new community,” he said.
With a reputation for invigorating organisations combined with expertise in risk management and accountability - delivering value for money for the residents and ratepayers of the Lakes District will sit high on the agenda.
“Initially I am looking forward to forging relationships with staff, elected members and the wider community and getting on with the business of ensuring the Lakes District continues to be successful and vibrant,” Mr Feeley said.
Mayor van Uden said the transition from a high profile national office to a highly scrutinised role in one of the fastest growing District’s in New Zealand would be relatively seamless.
“It’s a big job, Adam is right for it,” she said.
