Skippers Road Re-opens

Skippers Road has re-opened following completion of the recent realignment and benching work at Devils Elbow. The work was undertaken after a slip caused the road to collapse.

While the road has reopened, people are reminded that it is still a back country road, suitable only for four wheel drive vehicles with high ground clearance. It should not be attempted by inexperienced drivers or those in 2WD vehicles.

Road users should also be aware that currently the road is deeply rutted and extremely slippery in places. A high level of caution is advised.

The road will receive maintenance once it has had an opportunity to dry out.
