Changes to Anzac Day 2019 commemorations

A number of Anzac Day 2019 commemoration events are scheduled to take place across the district this year with a few minor changes to proceedings. The parade part of Queenstown and Wānaka events won’t be held this year, and Arrowtown’s parade will head down Buckingham Street instead of to the Cenotaph on Soldiers Hill.
A strong police presence will be in attendance on the day at all commemorations in support of the Returned and Services Association, however New Zealand Police has reiterated that the public should feel safe in attending any of the district’s commemorations.
During proceedings, road closures will be kept to a minimum.
Queenstown’s Mann Street and Templeton Way will be closed briefly during proceedings, and Buckingham Street in Arrowtown from.
In Wānaka, vehicle access will not be available to lakefront parking near the Dawn Service for its duration, and from Lake Wānaka Centre.

7.00am: Dawn Service on the Peninsula by the dam at Lake Hāwea |

6.45am: Dawn Service held at the Memorial Gates on Marine Parade 10.00am: Anzac Day 2019 Service held at Queenstown Memorial Centre |
Wānaka |
7.00am: Dawn Service held on Lake Wānaka foreshore beside log cabin 9.30am: Anzac Day service held in the Lake Wānaka Centre 11.00am: Wreath laying at Wānaka Memorial on Chalmers St |
