Hawea Temporary Water Restrictions Lifted
- Date:
- Jan 6, 2016
Temporary water restrictions have been lifted at Hawea, enabling residents to once again use sprinklers and automated irrigation systems on their lawns and gardens.
The temporary restrictions were imposed on Christmas Eve as demand on town’s reticulated supply soared with the influx of summer visitors.
For the last fortnight, residents have been able to use handheld hoses to water their properties. Supply and demand are now back in balance and QLDC has lifted the restrictions.
Please remember that it is always more efficient to water lawns and gardens in the early morning or evening when temperatures are cool and evaporation is slower.
