Queenstown Lakes District ratepayers who have just received an invoice for the first instalment of the 2014-15 rates may notice a small variation in the land area shown on the rates notice.

Chief Financial Officer Stewart Burns said that the data in the QLDC property system was accurate, and the rates had been correctly calculated. However, when NZ Post printed the rates notices, its computer system rounded up the land area to the nearest whole 100m².

Mr Burns said that the area of each property would be shown correctly on the next rates notice.
