Thaw Affecting Unsealed Roads
- Date:
- Jul 4, 2014
The thaw/freeze is once again taking its toll on some unsealed roads around the district. Roads that are frozen or saturated with groundwater are unable to be graded. That means it’s not viable to undertake meaningful repairs as winter conditions prevail. Therefore a 50km/h speed restriction has been put in place on the following roads for safety reasons.
- Paradise Road
- Kinloch and Greenstone Road
- Rees Valley Road
We are aware of the issues drivers in these areas are experiencing and ask for your patience while we wait for more favourable conditions to begin grading.
All roads in the district are subject to winter driving conditions so please drive with care.
