The summary of submissions for the residential issues Plan Changes will be renotified tomorrow Wednesday Queenstown Lakes District Council planning manager Vicki Jones said.

The council received a huge response to the three Plan Changes known as Plan Changes 6 8 and 10 which dealt with access widths car parking and improving the amenity in the high density residential zones.

Due to the large number of technical submissions received only the decisions requested points of relief sought were summarised and notified on May 10.

Since that notification the council had become aware of a processing error Ms Jones said.

In some cases the summary had not reflected the true position of the original submitter.

We are extremely pleased to have recognised this problem early in the process and are able to renotify the summary Ms Jones said.

Those interested in lodging a further submission were encouraged to look at the actual submissions themselves if they wished to better understand the reasons behind the decisions being requested.

Submissions were captured in three separate summaries for Plan Changes 6 8 and 10 450 pages in total which can be viewed at the Wanaka or Queenstown Council offices and libraries Arrowtown library and on the Council website The original submissions were also available in full at the Council offices.

Further submission forms which explained the process, were also available.

Any person was able to view the summaries of submissions and make a further submission.

Due to the renotification the period for further submissions would now close on June 26 2006 with hearings expected to take place in September October.

A hearings panel which will be advised by a team of senior planners and chaired by an independent chairperson would then consider the submissions.

She urged anyone interested in the issue of future residential development to take the time to check out the summaries and have a say.
