A rose pruning demonstration will be held in the Queenstown Gardens at the end of the month, just in time for pruning.

Queenstown Lakes District Council parks manager Gordon Bailey, a self professed gardening enthusiast, will hold the demonstration in the rose gardens.

"There are some schools of thought that you just take to the roses with the hedge clippers but actually there are some straight forward techniques which can be used to gain the best results," Mr Bailey said.

The half hour demonstration, which will include an opportunity for questions and answers, will be held on Saturday, July 29 at 11am.
