Tickets go on sale today for the 28th 2006 International ASB JazzFest, festival organiser Harvey Maguire said.

The 10-day October festival, which will kick off with a free outdoor concert on Earnslaw Park on Saturday October 14, is expected to attract heavy, early ticket sales.

"The International Cabaret at Millbrook on October 18th will sell quickly and other hot favourites like the James Morrison concert, the Rhombus concert and the decadent Paris Night at the Sofitel Hotel, will attract music lovers of all persuasions." Mr Maguire said.

The programme, which will showcase 150 musicians from all over the world, playing in more than 35 venues throughout the Wakatipu Basin, featured several hot new events.

"The majority of events are free and the ticket items offer outstanding value, thanks to the support received from local community trusts. By making tickets available earlier this year, we are giving residents first bite at the cherry. " Mr Maguire said.
