Boil Water Notice for Luggate
- Date:
- Dec 13, 2006
The Queenstown Lakes District Council has today issued a boil water notice to the residents of Luggate, near Wanaka.
Approximately 70 households are affected by the notice, QLDC spokeswoman Meaghan Miller said.
"The notice was issued this morning after routine testing detected the positive presence of faecal coli-forms in the bore sourced supply," she said.
The supply would be 'super chlorinated' today but the boil water notice would stay in place until further notice.
"Testing will continue until we are satisfied we can lift the notice," Ms Miller said.
Meanwhile council engineers would investigate the source of the contamination.
"At this stage it is most likely to be an issue with stock in the area of the bore," she said.
